Every lead you receive will have the same heading like above. By clicking on the Shoppers EMAIL address --> mailto:BUSYBEE1@PRODIGY.NET you will open up an email box to send your response to the shopper.

Do not hit the REPLY button or you will be sending your response back to us.

1. Click on the email address link at the top of the lead, or open up a blank email box and put the shoppers email address in there. Now you are ready to respond to the shopper’s request. Remember that what you put in the subject box of the response email will determine if the shopper even opens your email. With all the spam out there it is easy to got lost in the junk mail so make sure your subject box has a direct message.

2. You will need to make a folder on your desktop and put numerous templates in there for you to copy and paste into your response. If you expect to handle numerous leads daily you must have pre written templates, or you will be typing the same messages endlessly. Write a response letter for every situation that arises. You will find that People will fill out carfinder forms differently. Some shoppers will give you lots of info while others may not. You should always personalize each template to the individual to avoid looking canned.

3. After personalizing your response make sure all the important info the person needs is in the email. Your name, phone number, email address, your dealership name, links to your online inventory etc… After sending your response, you should take a copy of it and place it in a folder marked 2 days from the day you send the lead. This way if you have not heard from the shopper 2 days after sending the original response, you can now send another follow up, and you should continue this process until you either hear from the shopper or he buys a car.

Always read the entire lead and remember this before you start cherry picking or deciding what leads are good and which ones are not.

Many online shoppers are not sure what they want or may want the best available vehicle in their price range. If you work all leads regardless of how much info they give you, designing different templates as you go along, you will become the number one salesperson at your dealership. Learn and master email because 92% of online shoppers that fill out carfinder forms want to be contacted by email.

Keep in mind that 80% of your competition will never even bother following up on leads, and even fewer will send more than one response.
