Dealer Guidelines:
AutoNetUSA.com Dealers receive hundreds of leads every month. When a online shopper
fills out a Car Finder form on our site these leads are then e-mailed to you. Below are our standard expectations.
Step 1: The lead is e-mailed to your computer.
Step 2: You follow-up via e-mail and phone.
Step 3: Log responses and set appointments!
Central Control: The
only people working these leads should be those trained and authorized for the Internet at your Dealership. Do
not just print out leads and hand them out randomly.
Fast Follow-up: We highly recommend same day
follow-up. If your follow-up is longer than 24 hours, you will not succeed on the Internet. Follow-up on every
lead you receive. Use templates if necessary and if you don't have the vehicle they request just let them know.
If you cherry pick leads, you will not maximize your online potential. Important: If you do not have time to properly follow-up on the leads coming to your e-mail, you should seriously consider turning the
program over to someone that can give it priority attention. Otherwise you will not maximize its full potential.
Provide them with good information. If they
ask for specifics, give it to them. A half- baked message will get you very few responses. Getting an online shopper
to come in requires that you to be up front and sincere about earning their business. Give them a reason to contact
you back. If they want a price quote, give it to them. E-mail photos when possible, online shoppers appreciate
your effort. Offer alternatives if necessary. Believe us, it will pay off!
Offer them a good price from the start. Online
Shoppers do not want to come down and see you to get your best price. If you are up front they will come in.
Make the purchase as easy as possible (ease of sale).
The perception is that shopping online will also speed up the time spent at your dealership. Assure them that you
will complete most of the paperwork ahead of time.
Be consistent with your follow-up and keep your leads organized. Learn how to use your programs. We recommend Microsoft
Outlook, but whatever email program you use, make sure it's organized. If you need help maintaining an organized
e-mail program, call us!!
Get the appointment through honest sale techniques. DO NOT tell someone the vehicle is still available if it is not! If you get the person in on a real
vehicle there is an 80-90% closing ratio.
